Mixed emotions

The title says it all! Jason and I moved into this house back in May (I think) of 2004. It was PERFECT for us! And really nice! This is where we started our family, met GREAT neighbors, entertained friends and family, it was our first really big accomplishment as a married couple and then came Jase then Jax! - moving from our first fixer-upper-starter home in East Ridge. Almost 6 years later we have almost outgrown this amazing house. So, we have decided to put it on the market and see what happens. Hmm...see what happens...if you know me well - you know that I do not have that kind of attitude! I'm the type that has everything planned out and must have everything in order! I'm a nervous wreck! Where are we going to go, we can't move too far away because my grandmother still keeps Jax, we don't want to be far away from our church, we love the convenience of the location. And the list goes on and on... However, we are in desperate need of a bonus room and a little more garage space. So, if you are reading this, I ask that you pray that the Lord will give me peace and guide us in the right direction. And wish us luck...

Basketball Awards and Looky what I have...

Basketball season ended with a nice Award ceremony and party! Jase was so excited to get a trophy! (will have to post a picture later) He did great considering it was his first season. I'm so proud of him, he loves Jesus and loves sports. I've heard lots of people saying he is too young to play or understand basketball. I will agree, but Upward is so much more than learning the game of basketball. It's a great way to get children and parents a part of a Christian organization. So, I'm tickled that Jase liked playing and pray that he stays involved with sports!

Jase and his buddies...Justin, Briley, Jase, & Hayden

So we got a nice surprise Sunday morning!

Yep...those are teeth on the bottom...yep - 2 teeth! Finally the fussiness is over for a few days (or hopefully weeks)! I can't believe he already has 2 teeth :( And he is trying SO hard to sit up all by himself. Crazy!

We told Jase to watch out...because he likes to chew on things...including people! He doesn't know what he's got himself into! So glad he loves him to pieces though!

Getting so big

Saturday was the first time Jax sat in a big boy seat while out to eat! He did a great job and I think he liked it much better than sitting in his car seat. It still breaks my heart that my boys are getting so big!

Bless his little heart though - he had four shots Friday...notice he is chewing on a Tylenol bottle! He is very close to having 4 teeth. Can you believe that??? 4 TEETH at once. He has been a little fussy and I can see why now!

We had a busy weekend as usual...Saturday started with the LAST basketball game, brunch, baseball sign ups!!!! WHOO HOO! I hope Jase is half as excited about this as I am! After nap, the boys went down to their "aunt" Tera's to play with Zach and Abby while daddy and I went out on a date! We met Kevin and Heidi for dinner at Longhorn - LONG wait so we ate at the bar - yes the actual bar. Weird...but beats having to wait for hour and a half. It was too late to see a movie so we headed to Wal-Mart for baby food and last minute Valentines - Jase kept calling them Thanksgiving presents? Got in late and up early Sunday morning for church. What a great service Sunday morning - Vow renewals at church. Very special to see so many couples married for more than 25 years. Lunch, nap and back to church! I cooked my first roast ever...while we were at church. It was so good! Josh and Katie came over after church to eat and they were impressed with the cooking skills too! Great weekend! So glad to have celebrated Valentines day with my 3 most favorite people!

6 month check up

Mr. Jax had his 6 month check up this morning and he was such a big boy! I was a little off on the weight - guessing game- I just knew he was almost 20lbs. He weighed in at 17lbs 13oz and is 27" long. He was so sweet until Ms. Beverly came in with 4 shots and a drink. He was so mad that he cried himself to sleep. Dr. Coffman said that it doesn't get any better than this! He is a healthy little boy and we are doing a great job!
I can not believe that we have been a family of 4 for 6 months. It is bitter sweet! I don't want my boys to grow up! I'm having such a good time with them being little and loving me to death! But I do thank God for giving me healthy boys!

On a side note - last night on the way to BB practice (the final practice-YEA), Jase asked: "Mom, I don't understand why I don't have a girlfriend? I smell good, look handsome, and am really nice. But Taylor B still doesn't like me?" Really? I didn't realize that at just shy (a month away) of his 5th birthday - that we would be having this conversation. I laughed but at the same time, I wanted to cry! It's crazy to think that this little boy is so into girls! I'm going to have a handful in a few years!

Love them daily...because one day they will not want you to love on them!

Weekend get away

Got some good news Thursday morning on my way to have the final eye surgery...we had a room in Gatlinburg Saturday and Sunday! WOW! Well...Jason had to work 7am-7pm Saturday, but that's ok we made the best of it. Heidi's grandmother passed away and the funeral was in Knoxville Saturday, so me and the boys packed our bags and headed to Knoxville with Heidi, Kevin, & Brenda. We ate at McDonlad's (that's what you get for letting a 4 year old pick where we eat) in Ooltewah then headed that way. Jax and I rode with Heidi and Jase rode with Mamaw and Kevin. Life was great...JAx was asleep...Heidi and I were having good conversations and we were make GREAT time...

Yep...you guessed it...we were in park just hanging out on the freeway. And as soon as the tires quit rolling one little boy woke up screaming. So we had to improvise...

He didn't know what to think...sitting in my lap in the car. He was great.
While sitting there...people became impatient and decided to go through the median...did I mention that it had rained for almost 2 days? Well it didn't get this guy too far...just a tow fee and a little embarrassment...

And after sitting there for a hour and half...we started moving - and this guy was still sitting there talking to the tow truck guy. Jax went back to sleep and before we knew it we were in Knoxville.

Saturday morning we woke up and ate a big breakfast and Jase got to swim! Brenda, the boys, and I headed to Gatlinburg to check in to the condo. We first had to eat at the Chick-Fil-A by the Walmart (that's what Jase told us!). Around 3:30 we finally got in our room - and by 4:30 we were all sound asleep until 6:45! Kevin and Heidi arrived and we headed out to Red Lobster...then Jason and Mike arrived. Finally everyone there together...for about 3 hours! Kevin had to work Saturday and Brenda had to teach Children's Church so they headed back to Chattanooga. Sunday Heidi and I did a little shopping and Jase went swimming! When Brenda got back - yes she came back - They stayed Sunday night and kept Jase with them- Jason, Heidi, Jax and I headed to Ringgold for the Super Bowl.

Thanks to Bryan and Ashley we had dinner waiting on us and a great time was had by all! This little man is getting so big and so fast! He was showing off his new trick...Walking!

It makes me sad and it's not my baby! They grow up so fast!

And Jax taking Jase's place by loving on Aunt Heidi...she was tired and so was he!

Thanks Bryan and Ashley for having us over and a great time - and the GiGi's cupcake! Wow that was good!

Where does the time go

Happy 6 months to my little man! I can't believe he is 6 months old already! He is rolling over, scooting around, talking alot, loving his big brother, eating baby food and loving his bottle, still working on his first tooth (shouldn't be too much longer), trying his best to sit up, & sleeping through the night! We prayed for a healthy/happy baby and God answered our prayers! He is so happy and laid back. Thank God!

Here are a few recent pictures - eating his cake and loving life!

What a cute little boy...if I might say so myself!

First time for everything

So, I am attempting to add a video...we'll see how it goes!

The picture/quality isn't the greatest but wanted to share with you the love that the boys have for one another! Wonder how long Jax will laugh at Jase when he talks to him? Better pictures to come in the future - new phones in March! Yea!!!!

Snow Day!

What a way to end a crazy week...with 4 & 1/2" of snow! When I got home Friday afternoon, this is what my house looked like

I was SO excited! We didn't expect snow...because we were on the line. But the weather man really missed it - thank goodness!

A little DIY family picture. We didn't get all of Jax..but you can see he was there!

Daddy and the boys~ Jax didn't know what to think and Jase didn't want to be still for pictures!

Jase and his buddy Frankie - well he changed his name to Hank.

And Jax waiting to eat! He is getting so big!

I just love this little mischievous look! Can't wait until he is able to sit up all by himself! I also can't believe that is the first time that I said I couldn't wait for him to do something! I want him to stay little and not grow up! And the same goes for his big brother! Jase will be going to kindergarten this year :( Where has the time gone?

Well we had a great time playing in the snow Friday night and eating steak- yup you heard me right...

I sent Jason to the store to get us something to cook for dinner and this is what he chose! Got to love him! Anyway, we had so much fun Friday night, all day Saturday - Jase and I got to make a snowman! and all day Sunday! What a wonderful life!
