Count your blessings

As I'm sitting here in this crazy weather I'm reminded that I have so much to be thankful for! I have an amazing relationship with my Lord and Savior and couldn't imagine what my life would be like without him. So I'd like to thank him for the blessing that he has given me:
He has blessed me with an awesome husband who loves me beyond measures. At times, I wonder how I was so lucky to have been chosen to be his wife. He truly is my best friend.

I have two awesome little boys. They are the center of my world. They are kind, sweet, loving, and pretty good boys. They are also very handsome!
I have an awesome family! My parents do more than I realized to help us out. They love us so much. They love my hubby just like he was their own son. They molded me to be the person that I am today!

My Grandmother is awesome, she has given me peace of mind when I had to go back to work by watching my two little ones. There's nothing like going to work and knowing that your little man is being loved just like you'd love him!

My in-laws are great! They love me just like I were their own daughter. They love our boys and do so much to help us out. We are fortunate to have Jason's Grandmother still with us, she has taught me a lot about life. She truly loves life and loves to travel.

My BIL, SIL, and nephew are so special to me! I'm an only child, so to have a "sister"-in-law is the best thing in the world! We try to do as much with them as we can but our schedules are so busy. I love family time! And I love that little nephew of mine so much! Having a nephew is the coolest thing in the world! I kinda wish I could have been an aunt before I was a mom, because I would have know how awesome it truly is! He is the cutest little man and I think he really likes his aunt Jill!

I have an awesome church that I call home! I love Stuart Heights Baptist Church! I have an extended family that I could call on for anything at anytime. We have made some amazing friends and couldn't imagine life without them.
I have some amazing friends that know me better than I know myself. It doesn't matter how much time passes by, we always pick up right where we left off. I love my girls and am here for them anytime I'm needed.

As you can see, I have lots to be thankful for, awesome Husband, two healthy boys, Great family, an extended family and great friends. I'd like to know what you are thankful for?

Color, Color, & More Color

Finally...I've made my decision on the interior colors. Thanks to my mom for taking time on her day off to come and help me sort through the color wheel! I hope they turn out the way I have pictured, but if not, we'll be having a painting party...

The boys bedroom is going to be Blue Thistle and their bathroom will be Taupe Trivia. The living room/hallways/upstairs will be Cobblestone. The Master bedroom/bathroom will be Chipmunk (looks gray on here but it's a chocolate brown). The Kitchen is going to be Lion's Mane (Golden). The top half of the dining room will be Cinnabar (This is the color that I struggled most with!!!!) and the bottom half will be the Shell Flower (unless Craig -the builder-thinks it will look crazy) with shadow boxes. The half bath and office will also be the Shell Flower. I really wanted the boys rooms to be the Toupe Triva but Jase insists on a BLUE room. Thought I was past that stage, but that's the least I could do for the little man!

Mom and I don't see eye to eye at times, but I think we pulled together some awesome colors! I can't wait to see what it's gonna look like...pictures in the next few weeks.

Let me know what you think...only if it's a good thing because you know how indecisive I am!

House update

For our house "groupies" out there, I thought I'd bring you up to speed with our progress!

So far, we have our siding painted (don't ask me what color, because I have no clue) a brownish/gray color, sheet rock hung and should be finished, ready for interior paint colors to be selected (we'll discuss that in a bit), and the tongue and grove on the ceiling of the front/back porch was stained last week (WOW looks great).
Next week they will be laying the brick, hardwood floors/tile and pouring the garage floor! Then painting!

Now, what you've been waiting for...

View of back of the house

A view of the ceiling on the front porch

View of front door while standing in the living room (by the fire place)

Stairs heading up to the bonus room

Two handsome boys in our living room

The living room from the backdoor view

Our Bedroom

Look at this view from our back porch! Ahhh...I can sense many nights just lounging!

And the sign...We'll be living on Deer Valley Dr

Another view of the awesome ceiling!

So, back to this interior paint stuff...It's so easy to become overwhelmed when you pick up a color wheel (should be called a color encyclopedia if you ask me)! I know what I want, but finding it in that "wheel" is like looking for a needle in a hay stack!

So here's the "wheel" and the color on the paper is the "golden yellow" color that I want in my kitchen, 1/2 bath, & laundry room.

So Monday night I was at my parents and we looked at this "wheel" for a long time. We went next door to see her neighbors "red" kitchen and left and was still frustrated! If I could see what I want, I would know immediately! But this little square may not look good on a big wall! So I finally gave up and went to give Jax a bath. While dressing this little wiggle worm, I looked around and said "Mom, Come HERE! These are the colors that I want in my house!" It was right in front of my face! They all "flow" and will look nice! So, my new adventure is to match this pillow sham...gold color in the kitchen, burnt orange in the dining room, khaki in the living room, and the dark brown in our bedroom. It won't be that dark...

As you can see, we are very excited and I think we have alot to be excited about! We have an amazing builder who has made this process very easy! I would do it all over again...in several years! Not any time soon!!!!!

Well, I'm back with a little update...went to lunch with my hubby and he had our cabinet sample (just the color - not this particular style - but close) so we headed over to the Granite Warehouse and met with a sweet lady to pick out our granite! It's all coming together!

Happy Birthday October!

I love to see October come around! It's an awesome month, cool morning and warm days! With October, we are privileged to celebrate 6 birthday's in our immediate family! Not too mention the several friends that share this happy month!

We'll start in order and pay close attention to the pattern!

Happy Birthday to Mike, my father-in-law, whose birthday is October 7th. I know one thing is certain: he loves ice cream and his grandsons! We hope you had a terrific birthday at the beach! We love you!

Happy Birthday to my Dad, David, whose birthday is October 9th. We appreciate all of your advice and experience that you've given us! And this Papa loves his grandsons too! We love you so much!

Happy Birthday Daddy/Jason whose birthday is October 11th. I love this day because it's the day God gave you to us! I love you so much and am so happy with our life! You are a great husband and awesome daddy! I get compliments all the time about how hands on you are with the boys! We love you so much!!

Happy Birthday Aunt Jerri, whose birthday is October 11th! You've always been my favorite aunt (don't tell the others LOL!!) and I think that's because there is only 10 years difference in our age! I've always been told, you act just like your aunt Jerri! I have so many fond memories of my childhood and a bunch of them include you! We love you very much!

Think we all look alike - even the little mini me has made his way into the photo!

Happy Birthday to Kevin, my brother-in-law, whose birthday is today, October 13th. There's never a dull moment when Kevin is around-which is not a bad thing! He's an awesome uncle and the boys love him to death! He seems to be a natural at this daddy thing too! We've made him practice with ours for the past 5 years! We love you Kevin!

Happy Birthday to Grandmother/GG/Sara/Momma, who is my grandmother and her birthday is October 25. I can't begin to tell you how much this lady means to me! She is an incredible lady if you ask me, she has raised 6 children, 8 grandchildren (hope I didn't miss anyone), and 4 great grandchildren. She has been a true blessing to me and my boys (including Jason) by "raising" my boys when it was time for me to go back to work. She even did things like pick up the house and laundry (oh how I miss those days!) We love you so much GG and are so blessed to have you!!

And we'd like to wish the other October babies a very Happy Birthday: Savannah, Justin, Adam, Riley and brand new into the world Ms Aubrey!

As you can see we've had a birthday every other day beginning October 7th! We love this time of year with the leaves changing, soccer, football, chili, fellowship, and of coarse building our dream home! I'll leave you with a picture of our newly painted house! Oh how I can't wait until November...HOPEFULLY MOVE IN DATE!!!!!!

This is the ceiling on the front/back porch! Love it!!
