Easter 2011 and extra's

We couldn't have had a better day on Sunday April 24, 2011! It was a beautiful day! With 2 little boys, you've got to be creative with the Easter outfit! We attend church outside at Coolidge Park so we can't be too fancy. I found a pair of seersucker shorts and got a white polo and had a sweet friend monogram their initials for us. I had two handsome boys that morning! Life is so hectic with 2 little boys and trying to participate in extra circulars. So, I attempted to snap a photo (while they were still neat and clean) before I went to sing in the choir and this is what I got:

I put the camera up and tried to hide my disappointment (it's only a picture!) and went to worship the Lord! Half way through our performance the sun popped out and wow...it was beautiful! I got back to my seat and wow the kids looked like they had been to a birthday party!

Oh my lordy...look at this little handsome fella and his beautiful mommy!

I could just eat him up!

After an awesome message brought by Brother Gary, we had a wonderful spread by several of our small group families. From smoked ribs, ham, fried chicken, chicken salad, potato salad, slaw, macaroni and cheese to all the sweets. Wow! We had the best time! The kids played a game of waffle ball and Jax just ran around like a free puppy! He used to be so shy and wouldn't let me get out of his sight...
I don't know what I was doing, but my camera never came back out of the bag so I missed lots of photo opts :(

But, here are several snap shots of the past few weeks.
It's baseball season and Jase is loving it! He's doing so well! Thus far, he's hit 3 home runs, several triples, several doubles, and only got out a few times! He started the season at 3rd base and after coach seeing how well he could make a throw from 3rd base to 1st...he was moved to the pitcher circle! We couldn't be more proud of this kid!

A few weeks ago, my sister-in-law's sister, Holly got married. She had a beautiful wedding and made a gorgeous bride. I got a few pictures and hope she won't mind that I'm posting them. So glad to have been a part of her special day!

Congrats to Holly and Adam. We wish you a lifetime of happiness.

We'll be back with more updates soon. Baseball season will be winding down and school will be out soon! So, we'll have plenty of time to just chill out!

I'm asking that you take the time to pray for many in our area. 6 tornado's hit our area on April 27 and several lost their lives and homes. Please pray for our community. Also, a close friend of the family just found out that her 3 year old niece has a lemon size tumor on her brain. They plan to operate Tuesday morning, please pray for Lilly and her family. We know we serve a great physician and just pray his hand is on that baby while in surgery. God bless!

What's new

Wow! Have we been super busy since we moved into the new house -which I still owe you pictures of the final project! January, February, and now March have flown by!! We've had many get together, illnesses, surgeries, birthday's, deaths, snow days and just plain ol'good days. Now that March is here...we've been at the Ball field!!!! I love this time of year! Jase seems to love ball this year...and he's pretty good if I must say so myself!

Here are a few pictures of the last few months:

Told you we've been busy! And as I'm sitting here writing this, Jason and Jase are at baseball practice and me and the little man are laying in my bed -NO he doesn't sleep with us but it's our thing when no one's home! We can just lay here and watch TV - well he was, but now he's snoring! In the next few weeks/month I'd like you to cover me in your prayers...I have an opportunity of a life time - possibly. I'm praying for God's will and provision. Good news to follow...hopefully!

Happy 6th Birthday baby boy

Happy 6th Birthday Jase!! The past six years have flown by...honestly! No day has been the same and just when we think we have this parenting thing under control, you present us with a new challenge. Our everyday thoughts are now centered around who is doing what for whom. You have turned from a little baby boy to such a nice young man. You are so smart always counting, spelling, reading, and trying your best to please everyone. Everyone is so pleased with how polite and caring you are. You are an awesome big brother. You are a protector, leader, and friend to your little brother. You are giving him big shoes to fill one day. Your daddy and I are always praying over you, praying that God will protect you, that he show us the way to raise you, and that you will be a Godly man as you grow. You love sports and being outside playing. You've made us proud to be your parents and teach us something new everyday. We love you son and you'll always be my baby boy! Happy 6th birthday!

Surgery

I don't think I know anyone that enjoys having surgery. Could you imagine waiting 2 weeks until the surgery date? Well, tomorrow the wait is over for my GG (great-grandmother). She will arrive at the hospital at 6 am and surgery is set to begin at 7:45. Due to the complexity of this surgery, she will be in surgery for 6 or more hours. That is a long day of worry and waiting. But thank God, that I have my salvation and I've given that worry to him. I'm placing her care in his hands. In Matthew 6:34 it states: "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Amen. I keep praying that God will wrap his arms around her and give her the peace and comfort that I know he can provide.

So while I'm at the hospital with my family tomorrow I'll be praying for God to pour his love on me and give us the peace and comfort that we need. It will be a long 6 hours or so but I will be surround by those that love me. Keep praying my friends, that's all I ask.

Sad day :(

Jax started daycare yesterday. It wasn't so bad because he was only there 5 1/2 hours. He did ok, until after nap time. Well today, I wish I could say the same but he is just sitting around crying. He's not playing with anything or anyone. I know this becuase they have internet viewing...which I haven't decided if it was a good idea or bad. You see everything and it makes it look worse than it is...I'm sure. For example he was crying and following a teacher around and she never picked him up. That just broke my heart. I used to work in childcare (five years to be exact) and we coddled those new little babies to make sure they felt safe and secure. So, even though Jason and I have an exciting weekend away and we're one day closer to leaving, I'm having a really sad day. Can't quit crying and I know that he will adjust...just hard to except when it's your little baby that's having a bad day. We welcome your prayers!

Change

I realize it's been a while since my last post, but life has been busy! Moving in to a new house around the Holiday's was crazy! But I must admit I was motivated to get everything unpacked! We've had snow, and more snow, and a little more snow is on it's way.

We've also had some health issues arise quickly. My grandmother, Sarah, who keeps Jax has discovered that she isn't in the best health. She went to the doctor last month as a routine check up and they found a small soft mass. She then had to go see an ENT who ordered an ultrasound because there was a pulse. After an ultrasound, it was determined that she had an aneurysm and it has to be removed. Wow! That's a lot to absorb. So before surgery, they had her go in and do a stress test. Unfortunately she didn't pass the test. So we are here waiting on the next step. Her surgery is scheduled for February 4th. She asked her surgeon how many of these surgeries he has done and he was honest and told her 1 in the past 20 years. This is a very rare and risky surgery to administer. Ok, so I'm starting to get really nervous now...1 in the last 20 years? She went from keeping and playing with Jax every day to laying around because she is scared to death to move. Jax misses her like crazy and boy does she miss him.

Since she isn't able to keep him any longer and I unfortunately have to work full time, we've had to begin the search for childcare. Wow! That's been a difficult task. There were 4 places in the Hixson area with openings - 2 of them $200 or more a week, 1 around $175, and the other affordable at $130. Of coarse we couldn't be satisfied with the most affordable. So we had to go with the second best...which they gave a 10% discount to us due to our government ties! Praise the Lord!

So not only am I worried to death about my grandmother's health and her daily routine being ceased, I'm very nervous about Jax adjusting to the life at daycare. His GG took such awesome care of him everyday. She loved him so much - and still does. If he didn't like the 1st lunch she fixed him, she'd fix something that she knew he'd eat. I'm sure his new place of care will not be so accommodating. So, with all the changes going on in our lives, I ask that you please keep my grandmother and our family in your daily prayers. I've learned to trust in the Lord, but have yet to learn to cast my fears upon him. I'm working on that though. Hope you have a blessed week.

Moving Day!!

Today is the day! We will officially be moving into our new house today! So, we'll be back after the Holiday's with pictures and lots of updates!
