House update

For our house "groupies" out there, I thought I'd bring you up to speed with our progress!

So far, we have our siding painted (don't ask me what color, because I have no clue) a brownish/gray color, sheet rock hung and should be finished, ready for interior paint colors to be selected (we'll discuss that in a bit), and the tongue and grove on the ceiling of the front/back porch was stained last week (WOW looks great).
Next week they will be laying the brick, hardwood floors/tile and pouring the garage floor! Then painting!

Now, what you've been waiting for...

View of back of the house

A view of the ceiling on the front porch

View of front door while standing in the living room (by the fire place)

Stairs heading up to the bonus room

Two handsome boys in our living room

The living room from the backdoor view

Our Bedroom

Look at this view from our back porch! Ahhh...I can sense many nights just lounging!

And the sign...We'll be living on Deer Valley Dr

Another view of the awesome ceiling!

So, back to this interior paint stuff...It's so easy to become overwhelmed when you pick up a color wheel (should be called a color encyclopedia if you ask me)! I know what I want, but finding it in that "wheel" is like looking for a needle in a hay stack!

So here's the "wheel" and the color on the paper is the "golden yellow" color that I want in my kitchen, 1/2 bath, & laundry room.

So Monday night I was at my parents and we looked at this "wheel" for a long time. We went next door to see her neighbors "red" kitchen and left and was still frustrated! If I could see what I want, I would know immediately! But this little square may not look good on a big wall! So I finally gave up and went to give Jax a bath. While dressing this little wiggle worm, I looked around and said "Mom, Come HERE! These are the colors that I want in my house!" It was right in front of my face! They all "flow" and will look nice! So, my new adventure is to match this pillow sham...gold color in the kitchen, burnt orange in the dining room, khaki in the living room, and the dark brown in our bedroom. It won't be that dark...

As you can see, we are very excited and I think we have alot to be excited about! We have an amazing builder who has made this process very easy! I would do it all over again...in several years! Not any time soon!!!!!

Well, I'm back with a little update...went to lunch with my hubby and he had our cabinet sample (just the color - not this particular style - but close) so we headed over to the Granite Warehouse and met with a sweet lady to pick out our granite! It's all coming together!

Happy Birthday October!

I love to see October come around! It's an awesome month, cool morning and warm days! With October, we are privileged to celebrate 6 birthday's in our immediate family! Not too mention the several friends that share this happy month!

We'll start in order and pay close attention to the pattern!

Happy Birthday to Mike, my father-in-law, whose birthday is October 7th. I know one thing is certain: he loves ice cream and his grandsons! We hope you had a terrific birthday at the beach! We love you!

Happy Birthday to my Dad, David, whose birthday is October 9th. We appreciate all of your advice and experience that you've given us! And this Papa loves his grandsons too! We love you so much!

Happy Birthday Daddy/Jason whose birthday is October 11th. I love this day because it's the day God gave you to us! I love you so much and am so happy with our life! You are a great husband and awesome daddy! I get compliments all the time about how hands on you are with the boys! We love you so much!!

Happy Birthday Aunt Jerri, whose birthday is October 11th! You've always been my favorite aunt (don't tell the others LOL!!) and I think that's because there is only 10 years difference in our age! I've always been told, you act just like your aunt Jerri! I have so many fond memories of my childhood and a bunch of them include you! We love you very much!

Think we all look alike - even the little mini me has made his way into the photo!

Happy Birthday to Kevin, my brother-in-law, whose birthday is today, October 13th. There's never a dull moment when Kevin is around-which is not a bad thing! He's an awesome uncle and the boys love him to death! He seems to be a natural at this daddy thing too! We've made him practice with ours for the past 5 years! We love you Kevin!

Happy Birthday to Grandmother/GG/Sara/Momma, who is my grandmother and her birthday is October 25. I can't begin to tell you how much this lady means to me! She is an incredible lady if you ask me, she has raised 6 children, 8 grandchildren (hope I didn't miss anyone), and 4 great grandchildren. She has been a true blessing to me and my boys (including Jason) by "raising" my boys when it was time for me to go back to work. She even did things like pick up the house and laundry (oh how I miss those days!) We love you so much GG and are so blessed to have you!!

And we'd like to wish the other October babies a very Happy Birthday: Savannah, Justin, Adam, Riley and brand new into the world Ms Aubrey!

As you can see we've had a birthday every other day beginning October 7th! We love this time of year with the leaves changing, soccer, football, chili, fellowship, and of coarse building our dream home! I'll leave you with a picture of our newly painted house! Oh how I can't wait until November...HOPEFULLY MOVE IN DATE!!!!!!

This is the ceiling on the front/back porch! Love it!!

Going to school, Our nephew, 1st BD party, Labor Day weekend & First Haircut

Well, the title says it all! I've gotten behind and lots has happened so be prepared for lots of pictures!

Our "little" boy has started Kindergarten!! He had a great first day and seems to really enjoy the big boy school!

I've been waiting on my Sister-in-law (SIL) Heidi Moses href="http://marriedtoamoses.blogspot.com/"> to update her blog with the exciting news about little Kaden's arrival, but I can't wait any longer! Kaden Avery was born on 8/15/10 at 9:35am He and Mommy are doing well and everyone is so in love with him! I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with him and can't wait watch him grow up!

We had Jax's first birthday party at his Nana & Papa's house. What a day! It started out really hot and wouldn't you know it started raining just before everyone showed up. Everything was perfect! The food was good, the cake was awesome (thank you Michelle Ray), we had a great turn out and the kids had a blast! Jax really loved his cake! He just dove right in...

We had a great Labor day weekend! Friday night the boys went to their mamaw's house (thank you MIL), daddy worked, & Mommy went to Rebecca's house for a girls night in! We had a great time eating, talking, competitions, card games, food, & a great way to end the night...watching New Moon!

Saturday morning Jason and I went to pick up the boys and headed to Lake Winne with the Dotson's

I have fallen to the peer pressure...and got my little man's hair cut :(
One of my very best friends, Lessie, is very close to completing hair school and she was honored when I called to ask if her if she would cut his hair! She did an awesome job and he was very good too! But I'm missing his little curls...it does look better but I've got to get past this little pitty party! I just can't believe he is growing up so fast!

I'll be back with an update of the house...

Little boy growing up fast

Jax Evan Moses...turned 1 Saturday August 7th!! I honestly think this year has went by way to fast! It seems just like yesterday we were bringing him home and starting our family as a party of 4! He has changed our family in so many ways...he completed us!

Mr Jax,

You are such a sweet little boy and so happy! You are wearing 12 months clothes, eating everything in site (loves chicken, pimento cheese, cream of chicken soup and crackers, Milk, juice, & anything sweet!)You are still staying with your GG while mommy and daddy work. Still taking 2 naps a day unless it's Sunday and you go to bed around 8ish and sleep until 7:30is the next morning. You are so easy to put to bed...give you your pacci and lay you down. You love playing with Jase and following him around the house. You don't really like riding in the car but we are working on that! You are so loved by so many people and you seem to love everyone your around especially your Nana, Mamaw and GG. Can't wait until you start walking and I don't think it will be too much longer :(

I can't believe my little man will be a year old 3 weeks from Saturday. Where has the time gone??? I hope this puts a big smile on your face just like it did mine!

Big boy

Yes, it's already that time! I never thought I'd have this feeling of sadness, but I do! He is too little to have to carry his own lunch tray, go to the potty by himself, find his own seat, and defend himself! I love this little lunch box and the little boy on it!

Back Already

WOW! That was a fun quick trip! A great time was had by all! We left Chattanooga at 2:45AM Saturday morning and arrived at our destination at 10:35AM. I felt like I had walked into the life style of the rich and famous when I walked into the condo. It was very nice and huge! Very spacious! We really needed this vacation, but by the time it was ending...we really needed to come home! The kids loved the beach this year. Jase rode the waves almost the whole time! He showed NO fear...what-so-ever!! Which made me really nervous. It also reminded me of myself when I was a little one...I wore my dad out...let's go ride the waves! And that's exactly what Jase did. Jax wasn't so sure at first...but by the end of the trip...he was down eating and playing in the sand. The highlight of the trip was watching the fireworks at the beach from our balcony! That was awesome!! Jax missed the whole thing because he was already in bed.

This was our first family picture taken at the beach

Jase Riding the waves...he loved it!

Jax loving the beach!

For some reason...I'm having a hard time uploading pictures...so the rest will follow later.
