Lunch date and house update

Today was the day! Jase invited me to school to eat Thanksgiving lunch with him! YUM! Well, ok, the food was alright but my company was great! He had my undivided attention, and boy did I learn a lot! He is so grown, compared to where we've been recently. He was on his best behavior, ate a good lunch (see below), opened his own milk and ice cream - he doesn't even need my help anymore :( I'm so proud of the little man he is becoming. Here are a few pictures from the morning date:

Since I was so close to "home" after lunch I ran by and boy was I happy to see the number of cars/vans/trucks in front of our house! They started painting!!! I love when I walk in and see progress!!! I'm not sold on the kitchen color - will need some help deciding if I like it! But everything else that I looked at looked great! I'm really loving the color of the dining room! Good choice mom!!

WOW! I'm loving what I see!!!! A bright smile is on my face amongst all the rain and wind! Have a great day!

Low key

Our weekend started with a doctor visit for Jax at 5:15 :( And the result was an ear infection in his right ear and the croup. He seemed to be feeling ok, but had terrible cough. We got an antibiotic and a steroid. Jase stayed the night with Nana and Papa so Jax could get some rest. We stopped and got the meds and mommy something to eat. He ate a little dinner, took his medicines, and I wish I could say he went to be...but the steroid really hyped him up. So he played a while and took a bath. After bath he just wanted to snuggle with mommy :) I hate it when my kids are sick, but the snuggle time is awesome!

Daddy came home Saturday morning and of coarse I was already up folding laundry! Jax decided at 6:40 it was time to get up! So by 9:30, I felt like I had put in a day's worth of work - while he was laying back down taking a nap! Jason went and got Jase because he had 2 soccer games!

We headed out for some lunch, but first we had to run by the house to check the status. Someone had been there working but no signs of them when we got there. We grabbed some Arby's and headed to the soccer field. Jase had a huge support system, Kevin, Heidi, Kaden, Mamaw, & Grandpaw and of coarse Jax, mommy and daddy. Jase did great in both games which resulted in 2 wins! I believe we were undefeated this season! They don't keep score, but Jason and Kevin do! He had an amazing season and we may have found "his" sport!

After the soccer games, we went to Ms Avery's 6th birthday party! It was a swimming party at the YMCA! So much fun! Jase gave her a $20 bill and when she opened the card, I asked her if she was going to take Jase on a date? Jase got so embarrassed, he ran off! He has such a great sense of humor! We headed home, to get ready for date night! Yep, my hubby took me on a date...with other adults! We hired a sitter and asked a few good friends to come along with us! The Rays, Jones', and Moses' headed to Provino's for some food and fellowship! What a great night...long overdue!

Sunday morning we slept in, which meant we missed Sunday school. On the way to church it was raining and I remembered that the window in the spare bedroom was open at the new house. So we had to run by there and shut that. I worked in Children's church this Sunday, which was a lot of fun. We only had 32 kids (usually A LOT more than that)! After church we went and had lunch with Nana and Papa at Longhorn. I was still stuffed from Saturday nights dinner, but enjoyed it as best as I could. It was really nice, the kids were great and the conversation was wonderful! We headed to Lowe's to get ceiling fans, but ran into a Mr that we haven't seen in a while..

After church Sunday night, I wanted to watch a movie. We thought Blindside was still on On Demand, but it wasn't. So Jason convinced me to watch Taken. It was GREAT! Half way through the movie Jase came running down stairs with his dog, that he sleeps with every night. He had him dressed up with all sorts of things! He wanted a family shot but the DIY shots didn't turn out...we kept cutting someones head off!

Anxiously waiting

Well the title says it all. We are in the second week of November and still not sure about our closing date (AKA Move in date). I got some disappointing but reassuring news today. The painters were supposed to be there painting this week, and everyday Jason would call me and say "Nope no painting today, just a guys sanding." So today I called the "Painter" and he advised that they were delayed because he wasn't happy with the work from the Sheetrock crew. Well, it's really hard to be "mad" when someone has the best interest in your home, so I'll just say I was really bummed. That means we are pushed out yet another week. I feel so sad right now, but like I said I'm thankful that he didn't overlook a bad job.

As I drove down Pitts Rd I passed a "worker" truck and it was a Gutter company. I was on the phone with Marti, my BF, and said I wonder if I have gutters on my house? Well, we got gutters today! They look really nice, I should have snapped a photo but forgot! And you really don't care what my gutters look like!

Met with the shelving guy today and wow we should have a really nice Master closet. We told him like 3 times that we were on a tight budget and didn't think that the "wood" shelving would be within our budget, but he insisted so we shall see. This has been a fun process but as the title reads, we are anxiously awaiting the day we are in our home and making new memories!

So next week it looks like we'll be painting and maybe finishing the hardwood floors? Not sure, but will just keep looking forward to the move in date.

On the go

Well it's official...Jax is pretty much walking all the time now! He does this new thing where he'll walk on his knees if he falls down. It's so cute! I was lucky enough to capture this video of his first few steps in the new house! Check it out...

Count your blessings

As I'm sitting here in this crazy weather I'm reminded that I have so much to be thankful for! I have an amazing relationship with my Lord and Savior and couldn't imagine what my life would be like without him. So I'd like to thank him for the blessing that he has given me:
He has blessed me with an awesome husband who loves me beyond measures. At times, I wonder how I was so lucky to have been chosen to be his wife. He truly is my best friend.

I have two awesome little boys. They are the center of my world. They are kind, sweet, loving, and pretty good boys. They are also very handsome!
I have an awesome family! My parents do more than I realized to help us out. They love us so much. They love my hubby just like he was their own son. They molded me to be the person that I am today!

My Grandmother is awesome, she has given me peace of mind when I had to go back to work by watching my two little ones. There's nothing like going to work and knowing that your little man is being loved just like you'd love him!

My in-laws are great! They love me just like I were their own daughter. They love our boys and do so much to help us out. We are fortunate to have Jason's Grandmother still with us, she has taught me a lot about life. She truly loves life and loves to travel.

My BIL, SIL, and nephew are so special to me! I'm an only child, so to have a "sister"-in-law is the best thing in the world! We try to do as much with them as we can but our schedules are so busy. I love family time! And I love that little nephew of mine so much! Having a nephew is the coolest thing in the world! I kinda wish I could have been an aunt before I was a mom, because I would have know how awesome it truly is! He is the cutest little man and I think he really likes his aunt Jill!

I have an awesome church that I call home! I love Stuart Heights Baptist Church! I have an extended family that I could call on for anything at anytime. We have made some amazing friends and couldn't imagine life without them.
I have some amazing friends that know me better than I know myself. It doesn't matter how much time passes by, we always pick up right where we left off. I love my girls and am here for them anytime I'm needed.

As you can see, I have lots to be thankful for, awesome Husband, two healthy boys, Great family, an extended family and great friends. I'd like to know what you are thankful for?

Color, Color, & More Color

Finally...I've made my decision on the interior colors. Thanks to my mom for taking time on her day off to come and help me sort through the color wheel! I hope they turn out the way I have pictured, but if not, we'll be having a painting party...

The boys bedroom is going to be Blue Thistle and their bathroom will be Taupe Trivia. The living room/hallways/upstairs will be Cobblestone. The Master bedroom/bathroom will be Chipmunk (looks gray on here but it's a chocolate brown). The Kitchen is going to be Lion's Mane (Golden). The top half of the dining room will be Cinnabar (This is the color that I struggled most with!!!!) and the bottom half will be the Shell Flower (unless Craig -the builder-thinks it will look crazy) with shadow boxes. The half bath and office will also be the Shell Flower. I really wanted the boys rooms to be the Toupe Triva but Jase insists on a BLUE room. Thought I was past that stage, but that's the least I could do for the little man!

Mom and I don't see eye to eye at times, but I think we pulled together some awesome colors! I can't wait to see what it's gonna look like...pictures in the next few weeks.

Let me know what you think...only if it's a good thing because you know how indecisive I am!
